New London is in North Carolina where US 52 and NC Highway 8 come
together. Not far from here is the Reid Gold Mine where the largest
gold rock was found in the early 1800's. It weighed around 24 lbs if
memory serves me correct. I looked at this place when I was living in my
trailer. Great group of folks here and its in one of the richest gold
area's of the east.
